Family Tree

A convenient way of showing many statistics, the family tree can be very useful. They can take a little while to complete. However, family trees are very useful as they can show many associations not previously noticed in a standard pedigree.

Trees are traditionally shown with the ancestors at the bottom and the offspring and decendants on the top.

One of the most useful abilities of a family tree is to see intense in/line breeding in the past. Even on a six generation pedigree you may not see the relationship.

Family trees can also be used to trace color inheritance thru the ancestory. This aspect is especially useful for recessive colors, generally hidden in the gene pool.

Trees can quickly demonstrate family relationships, such as a brother sister mating ( above ) or to show color, number and sex of family members ( below ).
