All White

The only solid color allowed by the Malamute standard. The guard hairs are white, the undercoat is white and there is no mask or trimmings of any color.

If the pigment is liver, then we consider that to be a dilute cream color, in a True all white Malamute, the pigment is black. In both cases the eye color tends to be slightly ligher than general for Malamutes, much like the eye of a red and white, but not yellow, which is prohibited by breed standard.

Breeder's Note: If both parents are white, with black pigment, the litter will tend to consist of all white pups, (see the litter shown in "This is the Alaskan Malamute"). Theoretically, breeding white to white can produce any of the various colors in this breed.

For example: When bred to a creamy white stud (from a red and a white)- one all white bitch (from a white and a wolf sable) whelped a litter of 6 white/cream pups and 3 reds.

White Malamute pup with good black pigment of the skin around the eyes, nose and lips.

And grown up. She is the dam mentioned in the breeder notes. Sister to the orange male on the Cream page. (lower image)
