Grey and white

Guard hairs are black or black-tipped, with a white undercoat. Grey Malamutes can be of any hue, although the lighter greys were perviously termed wolfgrey, a term which is now no longer used on AKC registrations. However we will still look at the wolfgrey and silver grey Malamutes on their own pages.

Dark greys often have striking face markings: from full mask thru goggles,with white markings such as a star, stripe or blaze.

Breeder's Note: There appears to be no red factor evident in a grey Malamute.
