Colors with Red and Black genetics

Alaskan Seal and white-The Alaskan Seal Malamute may appear black at a distance, with all black or black tipped guard hairs. However, unlike the true "black" the undercoat is not black but a buff or red hue.

Sable and white- Clearly dark grey from the distance rather than "black", the Sable Malamute expresses the dilute gene with grey tipped guard hairs having very little white base and a buff undercoat and red trimming on the ears, elbows and hocks.

Wolfsable and white- Looking light grey from the distance, the wolfsable Malamute is differs from the sable by more dilute expressing itself as grey tipped guard hairs with long white base and a white or buff undercoat and light red trimming on the ears, elbows and hocks.

Trimmings are shadings of brown, buff, mahogany, golden, orange, red, pinkish, or creamy reddish hues; along the topline and/or on the legs, ears, tail or face between the white and the body color.
